Scholarships

SEA offers financial assistance to students who want to participate in our educational programming. See below for specific scholarship opportunities and application processes.

Scholarship Status as of 3/29/25. Please read and consider the following points:

  • We have recently learned that our support from the California Division of Boating and Waterways is on hold due to the federal funding freeze.

  • We are not sure if or when it will be released, so unfortunately, at this time we can not promise additional scholarship support for this coming summer.

  • You may still apply for a scholarship to have your request in the queue if funds are released, but we can’t move forward with any approvals until we learn more.

  • If you have questions about please send an email to programdirector@sfsailing.org and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

SEA Scholarships

AS NOTED ABOVE SEA SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ON HOLD FOR THE TIME BEING. You may apply, but we will not be considering requests until we learn more about the status of our funding support from the California Division of Boating and Waterways.

Through the generous support of the California Division of Boating and Waterways, and individual donors, SEA has general scholarship funds available and considers requests on an on-going basis and will award as our available funds allow.

  • Scholarships are on a sliding-scale based on annual household income.

  • You can apply for more than one student at a time.

  • Requests for multiple sessions for the same student will be considered on an individual basis.

  • If your family does not qualify under income guidelines but have special circumstances and are in need we encourage you to apply and outline those circumstances.

  • If you do not hear from us within a week of submitting an application, please reach out by emailing programdirector@sfsailing.org
